No, not the weather - although the colder days did arrive pretty early this year. We're talking about the blurred lines between the seasons in the shops - autumn crept into our lives before we could say August Bank Holiday weekend!
OK Easter eggs often appear before we've even opened door 24 on our advent calendar, but Aug-tober 2025 was a whole new level.
Halloween has grown exponentially to become one of the biggest dates on the UK calendar - quadrupling in spend by UK consumers in the past ten years (statista.co.uk) Shops are filled with increasingly extravagant home decor, elaborate costumes for Fright Nights and an array of spooky treats to tempt the ghouls with. The trick? Making sure you're fully tuned in to the mood of the nation to time your content right - and more importantly have the ability to adapt when you need to.
And can we mention the C-word?! Bookings for Christmas events and activities exploded as soon as September came. With pressure on family pockets, choosing their festive fun is more considered than ever before and we saw very clearly this year that to be in with a chance of securing that measured leisure spend, you needed to be firmly on the playing field early doors.
One of the things we love most about our job is that no two days are ever the same - it certainly keeps us on our toes! Happy Easter all 🐰
